Medieval bone plaque
Decorative plaque from a box. Thin plate of fire damaged worked bone. Inscribed ornament on one side, and fall into two groups: long narrow plaques forming border ornament of incised parallel lines, and plaques of larger area bearing overlapping groups of concentric circles within opposing straight incised borders. Some warping has taken place. Some pieces have traces of holes and the stains of iron nails - indicating how the plaques would have been attached.
