S.S. AMSTERDAM, negative

¾ Port bow view of destroyer S.S. AMSTERDAM at Cardiff Docks. Tug LOWGARTH also in image.

S.S. AMSTERDAM. Laid down in March 1955 by Netherlands Dock & Shipbuilding Company, Amsterdam. She was completed in 1958 and commissioned into the Dutch Navy on 10th April of that year - decommissioned in 1980. She was powered by two steam turbines, and carried a complement of 284 crew. 1980 – Sold to the Peruvian Navy in May, and renamed B.A.P. VILLAR (Pennant No. DM-77). She was broken up in 1991.
