Medieval pottery jug
A body sherd in a sandy grey fabric with bright orange internal surface. The outer surface has a good mottled lead green and brown glaze, and is decorated with an applied horizontal clay collar in a ferruginous clay.

Notes: This represents a collection of old finds presented to NMGW by the Marquess of Bute in 1964. They purport to come from Cardiff Castle and the religious houses of Blackfriars and Greyfriars.
