Inkstand
J.P. Kayser Sohn (Founded in Krefeld-Bockum, 1885. Supplied Liberty & Co with domestic pewter in an Art Nouveau style.)
Inkstand made from cast, highly polished pewter in the Art Nouveau style; the inkstand is roughly oval in shape, with the inkwell situated in the back-left corner, the well with a circular cover, attached to the well via a hinge joint, the cover with a 'pinched' knop, the tray is formed by a flowing ridge that extends around the edge of the stand, creating an organic, curving recess for pens, etc., which is embellised with raised spiral design, the edge of the stand is decorated with three groups of cast perles and a small crescent at the front edge.
