Medieval ceramic floor tile

Single tile fragment. Slip-on impression. Black-letter inscription in eight lines, probably reading: Thenke mon this liffe mai not eu endure That thou dost thi self of that thow art sure but that thow kepist un to thi sectur cure and eu hit availe thi hit is but aventure This has been interpreted as a warning to executors, for which there are 15th century parallels (see Griffenhoofe 1894).
