Porcelain head "Toyshop" doll

Part of the Edward Lovett collection of dolls. Known as a "toy shop" doll, shilling or dollar doll. Cheap dolls made with heads that were imperfect.

Bisque head, blue sleeping eyes, open mouth with four teeth, light brown curly hair. Jointed body. blue and white sailor style dress with high necked blue tunic top trimmed with white cord, over white pleated skirt on net bodice. Hip belt of white cotton. Separate sailor collar stitched on chest and large white bow. White cotton interlock knee socks.
