Slop bowl
Slop-bowl, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a tall foot rim, flared body, everted lip, decorated on either side with two groups of chinoiserie figures, one of a seated adult cooking, one child kneeling and two playing, the other of two chinoiserie figures, one seated and one kneeling by an elaborated fountain, each scene in a gilt and purple lustre cartouche surrounded by iron-red and brown scrolling, in between are two smaller painted scenes, one of a pot and the other of a rock, gilt band to rim, inner surface with a single elongated chinoiserie figure next to two vertical grape vines surrounded by a cartouche and scrolling, ornamental border to lip.
