Earthenware plate, notched rim moulded with garden flowers, centre transfer-printed in black with 'The Christening of the PRINCESS ROYAL of England', above the christening scene with an ornate vase/font centre, three secular figures to right (a man and two woman, the front man and woman kneeling), three church figures to left including a bishop holding the baby. Cherub blowing trumpet overhead, scene overlooked by the eye of God. Chipped rim.
