Built 1928 by Ayrshire Dockyard Co Ltd, Irvine (triple-expansion engine by D. Rowan & Co Ltd, Glasgow), for Kelvin Shipping Co Ltd., managed by H. Hogarth & Sons. 1955 – Sold to "Algol" Cia D'Navigazione SpA, Italy, and intially renamed ALGOL-D.She was renamed ALGOL from 1956. 1963 - Sold to Sicula Oceanica S.A, Italy.
