Pot-lid, earthenware, circular shape with cylindrical flange and convex top; the upperside of the lid decorated with an underglaze polychrome transfer-print of 'Tam O' Shanter', showing a man riding a dappled grey horse being chased across a humpbacked bridge by a horde of wraith-like figures, around the bottom of the scene is the inscription "TAM O' SHANTER", the print extends to the edges of the lid with ni border around it. Major chips to the edge of the top of the lid, the flange chipped.
