Jug
Jug, cream-coloured earthenware with a greenish glaze, wheel-thrown; barrel-shaped body with spreading neck and foot, recessed base, deep projecting lip spout, and plain loop handle with folliate terminals, wide band of turned horizontal reeding at the top and bottom of the body, under a thin green ground, and contained between cinammon brown lines, the rest of the body coated in a dark brown slip under a layer of white slip, and turned to reveal brown bands of varying width.
