Victory
Artist: GILBERT, Sir Alfred (1854-1934)
In 1887 Gilbert was commissioned to make a sculpture commemorating Queen Victoria’s golden jubilee. It included Victory flying over the globe or orb in the Queen’s hand. This figure, also known as Fame and as Peace, was later cast as an independent work.
