Powell, John (fl. ca. 1810 - 1830)
Dessert plate, soft-paste 'duck egg' porcelain, greenish translucency, greyish-green glaze; cruciform moulding, the rim with four large and four small lobes. Decorated with a small bouquet of polychrome garden flowers in the well, which is edged with a band of gilt leaves, the four narrow panels forming the rim with an orange ground ornamented with a gilt diaper and star pattern and reserved with a naturalistically painted butterfly, and the four larger panels painted with garden flowers.
