Prehistoric stone mould
Corresponding upper and lower stones of a mould used for casting several decorative rings or discs. The largest with a diameter of 55mm, in the centre, is decorated with swirling irregular s-scroll designs while the other three designs are for two rings with 7 radiating arms and a small disc virtually identical to the central part of the larger disc. The surfaces of the mould had been smoothed flat prior to decoration. Th reverse of one of the stones also has three casts for small rings but no runnels so may been trials.
