Teapot and cover
Teapot, soft-paste porcelain, standing on a straight-sided foot-rim, globular body, short cylindrical neck, plain curving spout, ridged loop handle, round domed cover with flat collar-like rim, to the top of the cover a finial in the form of a raised moulded flower head with moulded leaves besides it, a pierced steam hole to one side of the cover; painted in polychrome enamels with to one side of the exterior body a group of four Chinese-style figures and to the other side a scene showing two Chinese-style figures with a building and a tree, to the body around the spout and the handle red scrolls enclose panels with sprays of oriental flowers and foliage and with patterns of small gilt scrolls, similar panels to the top of the cover, two of which enclose small stylized chinoiserie-style landscapes, narrow red bands around the lower body, the shoulder and the rim of the cover, a foliate design to the top of the spout and a gilt band around the lip of the spout, a red floral motif to the handle, the flower head finial to the top of the cover picked out in green and red.
