Sibyl Margaret Thomas, Iarlles Rhondda (1857-1941)

SOLOMON, Solomon Joseph (1860-1927)

Sybil Haig oedd ei henw cyn priodi David Thomas ym 1888. Er gwaetha’r ffaith ei bod yn briod â gŵr mor flaenllaw yn y diwydiannau glo, llongau a chyhoeddi, roedd yn ffeminydd brwd ac yn ymgyrchu dros y bleidlais i fenywod yn ystod y blynyddoedd cyn y Rhyfel Mawr.

Born Sybil Haig, she married David Thomas in 1888. Despite being the wife of a prominent man with interests in coal, shipping, and publishing in, she pursued a strongly feminist agenda and promoted the cause of votes for women in the years before the First World War.
