Mug, glazed earthenware, cylindrical body with simple square profile handle with slight scroll at lower edge; transfer-printed in brown with a scene composed of a locomotive engine with two passenger carts and another carrying a horse-carriage, against background scenery of hills, trees, a church and cottage, the length of the handle is printed with a twist pattern, the exterior rim with a simple twist border motif, below which is an area of hatched vertical lines, from which extend pendants with stylised flowers.
