Roman samian bowl
Small and very abraded sherds in fine, thin ware, from a bowl with upper-zone decoration in the form of tiny fringed festooons set in a scale pattern, each containing a small triple leaf. The lower zone has a series of roped gadroons. Colchester provides a precise parallel for the festoon pattern. The lower zone decoration may be compared with Knorr 1919, Taf. 9, K (OFAQVITAN).
