Cap, evening
Skull cap, about 1925. Worn by Mainda Thomas, dressmaker and owner of Malins Gowns of Newport and Barry. White cotton net, stiffened, with central seam. Decorated overall with tamboured chain stitch in silver thread. Edging and leaf motif at each side in silver braid. Butterfly (?) motif at centre front in sequins of cellulose acetate.
