Roman copper alloy buckle
Buckle with a 'waisted' extension that expands into a rectangular end. There are traces of iron in the corrosion around the rectangular opening, perhaps suggesting that the means of attachment to the rear of the belt plate may have been of iron. The ends of the hoop are only slightly recurved. The buckle is cast in a flat one-piece mould.
