Cup, tea and saucer
Tea cup and saucer, soft-paste porcelain, fine white translucency and a lustrous glaze with typical irredescence around the enamels; the cup standing on a stepped foot, sides swelling to an everted lip; high scrolling kidney-shaped handle; dish-shaped saucer with flat unglazed base and spreading sides. The cup decorated with a gilt line at the foot, the lower part circled by a matt blue band ornamented with pearls between deckel gilt lines, and broad border above comprising alternating circular reserves of roses and cornflowers on a blue band edged with lines of gilt beads and with matt gilt foliage on blue, interrupted by four roundels containing a pansy within a blue circlet ornamented with pearls; gilt band at lip and with shaped panels of gilt diaper, oiel de perdix etc. edged with foliate scrolls inside, the interior painted with an exotic pheasant (purple body, yellow and blue wings) in a landscape; the handle partly gilt. The saucer painted with a landscape containing two similar exotic pheasants, one perched in a tree, contained within a blue band ornamented with pearls and edged with deckel gilt lines; outer border of alternating roses and cornflowers between blue bands and gilt foliage, interrupted by five roundels containing a pansy within a blue circlet ornamented with pearls.
