Oval pearlware dish, nearly white earthenware covered with a slightly crackled pale blue tinged glaze, fritting at the shaped footing, four flutes to the sides; painted with the arms of George Parker 4th Earl of Macclesfield (1755 - 1842), gules, a chevron or between three leopard's faces argent (should be or), in a gilt cartouche, crest, on a gilt helmet a leopards head affrontee argent (should be or) ducally gorged or (should be gules), together with an earl's coronet, and mantling azure. The supporters, two leopards regardent proper, each gorged with a ducal crown or (should be gules) are placed realistically on a green grass background, with grey clouds beyond, the rim gilt
