Armband
Armband with the words ‘Special Constable’ embroidered on, using 2 ply white wool thread in satin stitch. Made from a rectangle of navy blue felted wool backed with a black cotton 2/2 twill. The two fabrics are joined with a line of top stitching made from the reverse, using black cotton thread. There is a herringbone woven, black wool tape sewn to both ends of the band with a 2 pronged coated black metal buckle at one end, the other end is folded into a point and stitched, the tapes are reinforced with a triangle of stitching where it joins the armband.
