CANVAS, embroidered with coloured wools in cross stitch. Divided horizontally into three compartments by narrow bands of ornament. In the first compartment, in two rows, are Gothic letters of the alphabet and the inscription: "Marie. de . . . (rest of name cut out.) 1858"; in the second are small Italic letters of the alphabet in one row; the third contains the alphabet in Italic capitals, numerals to 9 twice repeated, and a number of border patterns, all arranged in three rows. There is a narrow varied border.
