Cup and saucer
Nantgarw China Works (1813 - 1822)
Cup and saucer, soft-paste porcelain with a white translucency; cup standing on a straight sided foot rim, indented above with curved spreading sides, flaring at lip; high closed c-scroll handle; saucer on a flat, unglazed foot. with rounded spreading sides; both painted with a turquoise oeil de perdrix ground, the cup reserved with two cartouches of flower sprays, bordered by four gilt c-scrolls, and a flower spray inside the bowl; the saucer with three cartouches around the edge and a circular reserve in the centre; gilt band to foot rim, gilt scalloped edge to cup and saucer lip, and gilt anthemions to the handle.
