Early Medieval human remains
These are the poorly preserved remains of an inhumation burial of an adult who's sex is undetermined.
The burial is from Phase I: 774-1131 AD
They were buried in an extended supine position in a simple grave oriented W-E.
Also recovered from the burial fill (1096) was some prehistoric flint debitage (2025.7H/3.44) and two undated animal bone samples, one of burnt bone. The excavation report records a natural quartz pebble recovered within this burial, one of six burials with associated quartz pebbles. The quartz pebbles themselves don't seem to have been kept by the excavators and are not among the assemblage.
The burial is associated with SK79
