Swatch of tweed
Small swatches of tweed held together at one corner with one copper alloy rivet. There is a brown cord attachment for hanging (cellulosic core covered with silk? fibre) which is knotted around the rivet in the centre of all swatches.
Self-adhesive paper labels are attached to the front of each fabric swatch: The one attached to the uppermost swatch states the manufacturer (S. Collier & Co. Ltd., Trowbridge) as well as the number and width of each fabric swatch. The other swatches have smaller labels which merely state the number (hand-inscribed in blue biro, and printed with a blue octagonal double border).
