Iron Age ceramic crucible
Rim fragment of a crucible with lip for pouring. Probably of the shallow triangular form similar to those from Glastonbury Lake Village (Bulleid and Grey 1917, 300-309), Gussage All Saints (Wainwright 1979, 130-132) and Collfryn (Britnell 1989, 126-7) dating to the 1st and 2nd centuries BC. The rim tapers to a point, is vitirified and has traces of copper alloy on its internal surface.
