Plate, earthenware, tapering foot-rim, curving sides and spreading concave rim, a lobed edge to the rim; transfer-printed in blue with the 'Italian' pattern, to the well a landscape with classical ruins by the side of a river, figures and lambs in the foreground, around the rim a wide border of conventional flower heads and foliage against plain blue, striped and spiral pattern grounds.
