Plate, cockle
Evans & Glasson, Cambrian Pottery (1851 - 1862)
Cockle plate, earthenware, circular shape, standing on a narrow rounded foot-rim with a further raised ridge around it, cushion-moulded sides and spreading rim, eight shallow notches and lobes to the rim; transfer-printed in pink with to the centre of the well a flower head surrounded by foliage, further flower heads and scrolls around the sides of the well, stippled and spotted pink ground to the rim.
