The Hong Kong Plague medal was awarded by the Community of Hong Kong to 300 men of the King's Shropshire Light Infantry and to members of the Navy, Royal Engineers and local police, for services during a severe epidemic of bubonic plague. This medal was awarded to Private A.E. Gilbert.
