Undated zinc strip
Zinc strip with one long edge curled over, the other much damaged. There are clear tracesof one rivet or nail hole, and it is easy to see where two others may have been before the strip was damaged. Probably a binding strip from the rim of a pail bucket. Unfortunately, the strip has been so flattened that it is not possibble to ascertain the curv of the rim and the diameter of the vessel. Rust stains withthe curve of the lip suggest that the rim had been strengthened with an iron loop. Not possible to date as it was unstratified. This may be a modern object perhaps a lining for a tank. NMB2004
