Roman copper alloy headstud brooch
Hinged pin held on the axial bar in tubular mouldings behind the head with a notably off-centre slot. The front of the head has a large central saw toothed crest running down to a cast stud with a central and outer circular recess within a ribbed circle. Above there is a rectangular plate with two horizontal ridges and the remains of a suspension loop. The short wings are rectangular with a forward facing beaded flange at the end of each. The bow is of rectangular section, but with a convex back, and is plain. Foot missing and in two pieces
