Cup, tea and saucer
Nantgarw China Works (1813 - 1822)
Teacup and saucer, soft-paste porcelain; cup standing on a straight sided foot rim, indented above, curved sides flaring at lip; high c-scroll handle closed above the lip; saucer standing on a flat unglazed base, rounded spreading sides; interior of cup and saucer painted in gilt with a wide border of wheat, and a central medallion star with emerging stylised flowers; exterior of cup painted with continuous gilt vine wreaths; gilt handle, foot rim and gilt band to lip.
