RUG-MAKING EXAMPLES
Rag-rug sample (tufted/prodded) made with metal clasp on 6x6 inch hessian backing, black cotton border with orange triangles and red patterned diamond in centre (all cotton?). Alison Morton label tied to sample with hand drawn diagram and note ‘METAL CLASP worked from the front with short pieces or long lengths’. AM notebook: ‘During winter 1984/85 Made 6" square samples using the different tools I have collected. 2 Tufted and 2 looped. Black border with different coloured triangles and centres’.
