Memorial plaque
Next of Kin Memorial plaque awarded to next of kin of those who lost their lives whilst on active service durning the First World War. Shows relief standing figure of Britannia, holding a trident and laurel wreath, surrounded by dolphins, a lion in front. Inscribed: HE DIED FOR FREEDOM AND HONOUR around the image. Oblong panel below the wreath, where the name of the individual is recorded: DAVID JOHN GRIFFITHS.
Sent to the parents of Private David John Griffiths, a tinplate worker from Morriston, who was killed in action 21 March 1918.
