Roman copper alloy T shaped brooch
A cylindrical crossbar houses the pivot of the hinged pin, the bow is of D-shaped section at the head, tapering to a knife-edge foot. A central rib runs a short way down the bow; shorter ribs flank the head of the bow and are themselves flanked by raised ribs on the crossbar; these ribs which demarcate the bow, extend around the crossbar beneath the head to form an inverted V-shape round the pin slot. The crossbar terminated at each end in two plain mouldings.
The foot is bent out of alignment, the catchplate is badly damaged and the pin is missing. Stripped.
