Dancing Faun

Evershed, Kitty (Katherine M. F.) (Kitty Evershed enjoyed success during 1920s and 1930s and was a student of Augustus John. Her studio was at Edwardes Square, London.)

Figure of a young faun, buff coloured earthenware finely coated with a white glaze on a rectangular base that has a slightly curved surface, the whole slots into a wooden rectangular plinth with curved sides; he is sat on a tree stump playing the pan pipes with his left leg raised in dance.
