Cup, tea and saucer
Nantgarw China Works (1813 - 1822)
Teacup and saucer, soft-paste porcelain; cup standing on a rounded foot rim, krater-shaped bowl ( rounded lower part with concave curved sides), loop handle extending above the lip; saucer standing on a tapered foot rim, with rounded spreading sides; cup painted with a wide band of rows of gilt dot flower heads on red thread stems with two green leaves, with a border of gilt scrolls and pink enamel dots below, and another running border of pink and gilt dots between blue lines above; dentilled gilt lip; inside lip gilt band and gilt ermine tails alternating with red dots; the saucer similarly painted with a pink dog rose in the centre; gilt dentilled lip.
