Handkerchief
Square shaped handkerchief made from a single piece of thin white silk. It is decorated with a print of a veiled woman showing her head and shoulders, it is black and white with light flesh coloured face and green headwear (in the style of a hand coloured photograph). Underneath the print are the words SOUVENIR OF EGYPT printed in black ink. The edges of the handkerchief are printed on both sides in blue and pink, the design features circles, rectangles with white spots, flowers and waves. The border is turned by 2.2cm and machine sewn with a small zigzag using white cotton thread, forming a line along the border simulating drawn thread work.
