Plate, pale cream-coloured earthenware with a soft greenish tinge to the glaze, circular shape with flat base, curving sides and spreading rim; transfer-printed in red-brown with to the centre of the well a head in profile which when viewed one way shows a female figure wearing a bonnet and when reversed shows a male figure wearing a hat, around the head are printed the inscriptions "MARG.T NICHOLSON" and "LORD GEORGE", the design enclosed by a wreath of myrtle leaves overpainted in green enamel, the rim painted in red-brown enamel with a formal trefoil border.
