Built 1942 as EMPIRE STRENGTH by Harland & Wolff Ltd., Belfast (with 6-cylinder Burmiester & Wain diesel engine built by Harland & Wolff) for MoWT. 1946 – Sold to Blue Star Line Ltd., and renamed SAXON STAR. 1961 – Sold to D.L.Street Ltd., Newport & Cardiff, and renamed REDBROOK. 1965 – Sold to Hegif Compagnia Navigazione SA, Panama, and renamed E. EVANGELIA, managed by H. Embiricos, Greece. She ran aground on 15 October 1968 off Costinesti, Romania, (possibly as part of an insurance fraud) and was declared a Constructive Total Loss.
