Metal blade with ornate wooden handle. Blade is highly decorated with inscription on front and Coat of Arms and manufactures details on reverse.
Commemorative spade used by Mrs Clark of Dowlais to cut the first sod of the Ely Valley Railway at Llanelai-vach, Llantrisant on 17th May 1858.
