Dish, shell-shaped, soft-paste 'duck egg' porcelain, with a yellowish green translucency; standing on a straight sided foot rim curving into rounded sides; lobed lip with four large and five small lobes, and one larger pointed lobe with moulded ridges; grooved cavetto; painted with an Imari style pattern, a wide border divided into four segments, two with a red vermicelli pattern and a stylised red and gilt sunflower on an underglaze blue ground, between two panels of red flowers with green, underglaze blue and gilt foliage on a white ground; an inner pale red border and a central red, underglaze blue and gilt stylised flower head; gilt lip, and lip moulding high-lighted in gilt.
