In Three Cliffs Bay (photograph)
Salted paper print, from Collodion glass negative 86.31I/394. Cliffs with pool in the foreground and female figure near cliff face.
Three Cliffs Bay on the south Gower coast is famed for its beauty. It is a short distance from Caswell Bay, where the Dillwyn Llewelyn family had a seaside house. This beautifully composed image contrasts the smooth water and sand with the rough rocks around. A solitary female figure (almost certainly one of the family) stands at the side of the composition and gives scale.
