Honey press
Press for removing heather flower based honey from combs.
Main frame oak on 4 square-section pine legs; 2 ends tenoned sides; horizontal screw press; 4 wooden plates, 3 with 17 vertical sycamore ribs on both sides of pine board, 1 with ribs on one side only, this next to 47mm thick beech board, the moving head of press; all sit on sycamore runners, one at bottom of each side. Honey ran into metal container beneath through 45.0 x 41.2 cm tinned mesh with 7mm square openings; tin plate edges; 4 fine mesh gauges in bottom of container; spout at wheel and end of container to decant honey. Container slides out on runners for cleaning.
