Post-Medieval clay pipe
A pipe of Broseley type 5a (dated by Oswald 1975, c.1680-1720). This example is stamped by IOHN (I)ONES. Atkinson records several makers of this name within the second half of the seventeenth century, but the combination of name and bowl type would suggest manufacture of this pipe within the last quarter of the century.
