Early Bronze Age bronze flanged axe
With a widely splayed assymetrical blade, rounded butt, cast flanges with diagonal fluting and transverse furrowing between the flanges. The blade has a pitted surface and appears to have been reshaped after casting. Dark brown patination.

Site Name: Menai Bridge, Anglesey
Date: 1875
Notes: part of a hoard of eight flanged axes found near the junction of the Holyhead and Beaumaris roads at Menai Bridge. The other axes from the hoard are in the British Museum and Bangor Museum and Art Gallery.
