Nantgarw China Works (1813 - 1822)
Plate, soft-paste porcelain, slight yellowish tinge with grit specks, standing on atapering foot rim, spreading sides; the rim moulded in six large and six small lobes, moulded with foliate c-scrolls and tied ribbons; the centre painted with Chinoiserie style flowers in underglaze red and blue, with green foliage and gilt detailing all emerging from a basket in underglaze red and gilt with two drop handles; the rim painted with three small sprigs in gilt; chocolate banding to the outer rim.
