Composition sleeping doll, c.1945, dressed in Welsh costume. The doll has blue glass eyes and black synthetic hair. Articulated arms and stiff legs, with black slippers and painted white socks.
Costume: Dressed in hand-made knitted Welsh costume in black red and white, consisting of gown, petticoat, shawl and pantaloons. Carrying basket of cockles on her head. With basket of laverbread on each arm, made out of hazelnuts. A 1949 halfpenny has been placed in the front pocket of her apron. Hand made by donor.
